It’s really happening, exactly as the Bible predicted thousands of years ago.”

Author's Eye Opening Memoirs Include Talking His Way Into a Cockpit of Commercial Plane and flying It From DCA to ATL

McGuire’s Memoirs Book!

McGuire in Marseille, France exploring which restaurant has the best Bouillabaisse

McGuire in Marseille, France exploring which restaurant has the best Bouillabaisse

I asked the Crusty Captain––Politely––If I Could Fly the Fully Loaded Boeing 727 and He Looked at My Bow Tie and Assumed I Was a Harmless & Proper Gentleman!

If the passengers knew I was flying the plane they would have said, ‘Let’s Roll’ and I would have been tossed out over Spartanburg, South Carolina.”

— Jake McGuire

NEW YORK, NEW YORK, USA, August 31, 2020 /EINPresswire.com/ — Jake McGuire, who already has ten books in print is finishing up his colorful memoirs entitled, 'Out of Line • The Adventures of a Wayward Photographer,' is looking for a publisher and movie house.

But he warns ALL WHO HAVE A FEAR OF FLYING, including editors, publishers and Hollywood producers to call their therapists before even reading this press release.

McGuire, who has spent his lifetime on jaw-dropping, eye-opening adventures says, "I've traveled to, lived in or had to flee from more than 30 countries."

His mantra of ‘thinking big’ and ‘being daring’ has landed him, amongst other feats; talking his way into the cockpit and flying the commercial jet, finessing his way into the Oval Office for a visit with a President of the United States, and managing to join the Amir of Bahrain in his Royal Palace for tea, whereupon McGuire was showered with gifts of diamonds and gold before he left the Oil Sheikhdom.

My memoirs are by a photographer, about a photographer, so the stories are extremely visual,” he says, “so they easily translate into an entertaining motion picture, or a fun Broadway performance."

"I have entertaining adventures that Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos can't match!" He says, "They have more money but I live a richer life!"

McGuire, who is no stranger to “Out of Line” techniques–as his book title says–thought he’d go big and pitch his book to Hollywood. He got the idea from his sister in North Carolina who said, “I’ll pray to the Patron Saint of Movie Rights!” They both laughed, remembering their childhood school days where the nuns had a Patron Saint for everything and everyone.

When the name George Clooney, came up they agreed the angelic-looking Clooney might make a great Patron Saint!

So, enter George Clooney! Not only Clooney number one…..but also number two, and number three!

“When my initial pitch to Clooney went out on the EIN, PR Newswire, it got a lot of media play,” he says, “but I never really expected to hear from George Clooney. So when I heard from three of them all claiming THEY were the real George Clooney, my head spun around in a 360 like the girl in "The Exorcist."

First, a little background on McGuire’s “Out of Line” memoirs: From working on the staff of a weekly newspaper to becoming one of America’s most published photographers, McGuire’s book reveals how he ditched his disheveled looks, switched to dapper, acted daring, and then watched his life blossom into a Hollywoodesque series of entertaining globe trotting adventures.

McGuire has been a newspaper photographer, photo editor, reporter, food and travel writer, chef, restaurant critic, and an admitted mischief-maker. He now has ten coffee-table books in print. He is always on the move searching for good food, fine wine, and delicious adventures all woven together.

McGuire's gourmet adventures include how an upperclass, noble-woman living in Paris took him to Marseille to see which restaurant had the best Bouillabaisse. "We had so many versions, that after a week I was growing barnacles," he laughs, " and she was kind enough to pick up the the entire tab including the high speed TVG Train to Marseille!"

McGuire’s calls from the three Clooney's came interspersed with him receiving his usual dozens of daily robo-calls, junk call, sales calls, and prank calls––of which, while he is promoting his book––he is hesitant to ignore, THE POSSIBLE BIG ONE.

“I’m hopeful the real Clooney might want to take my book off the movie market place before someone else does,” says McGuire, “and, Clooney has that terrific twinkle in his eye to produce, direct and star in a fast paced film about an, ‘Out of Line,’ character.”

Clooney phone caller number one was fairly convincing, he says, but turned out to be an old schoolmate, “who was just messing with me.”

“In a movie, Clooney would make a better me, than me,” says the wayward McGuire with a chuckle. “And, I'd love to a bit part in it, where I’m sitting next to Clooney at a venerable old DC bar like the Old Ebbitt Grill.”

“McGuire is edgy, nutty, romantic…nimble in his walk and talk…spreading mischievous wisdom around,” says fellow book author and DC area Professor, Anita Nahal.

"Clooney caller number two, sounded like a gentleman from Mumbia,” says McGuire, who was about to hang up on the fellow, “But what if he were a film producer from Bollywood?” McGuire didn’t want to miss an opportunity so he listened for a while, but eventually said good-by when the pitch for yoga classes with Oprah came up.

"Clooney number three had a Russian accent," says McGuire, But with the man's Russian accent I didn't think it was the real George Clooney, so I hung up on him."

On second thought, McGuire now wonders if Clooney number three wasn't the real Clooney, clowning around with a theatrically savvy Slavic accent. "Oh well, there goes my movie––so far–– down the drain, boo hoo!"

In addition to his adventures of chumming it up with heads of state, his truly sky-high–adventure of flying the commercial jet had McGuire saying, “If the passengers knew I was flying the plane they would have said, ‘Let’s Roll’ and would have tossed me out over Spartanburg, South Carolina.”

And, McGuire admits he has no pilot’s license, and having to hang up on the final imposter, McGuire has no Clooney. Yet..he is hopeful!

Washington Post writer, Monica Hesse, who penned a lengthy feature on McGuire in August of 2010, wrote, “McGuire is looking like he should be holding a mint julep, or yachting or doing something else genteel. His face is aristocratic… his manner is intense.”

McGuire's newest and most devilish marketing attempt was trying to get the Evangelical Liberty University to ban his book, but Jerry Falwell was fired and then so called, Pool Boy, " stole Mcguire's media thunder.

Stay tuned!

— Mike Meier, author of JoinWith.Me

MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, UNITED STATES, August 31, 2020 /EINPresswire.com/ — The internet platform Manybooks where authors introduce their work to the community, has published an interview with the author of the movie screenplay and book “JoinWith.Me,” under the heading “Do We Control Technology or Does Technology Control Us?” The occasion of the “Author of the Day” interview is that the screenplay of Mike Meier is now available on Amazon.com as an eBook and Paperback. JoinWith.Me is a dystopian thriller that explores timely questions: whether we control technology or it controls us; the singularity horizon where AI crosses the threshold into self-awareness; the enduring power of human connection; and the ultimate destiny of humankind.

Here is a brief excerpt of the interview:

Please give us a short introduction to what JoinWith.Me is about.

JoinWith.Me is a cautionary tale about our increasing fusion with technology as a society. The protagonist is Sam Vanderpool, just an average guy. His life doesn’t matter. He has no friends and no woman. His parents think he’s a weakling who will inevitably go insane. His mind-numbing government job could be performed by any of the thousands of soulless workers who commute in and out of the city each day, just like he does. One night he takes a break from watching internet porn and discovers a website called JoinWith.Me. There, a “counselor” promises to fix his life.

Your novel explores the question whether we control technology or it controls us. Which do you believe?

Now you are asking a really tough question. In my story, it controls us because it comes to life, it is no longer mere artificial intelligence. At that point, should that ever happen, it is certainly technology that controls us. That’s why I quote Goethe’s Sorcerer’s Apprentice (better known to most Americans as the Mickey Mouse Fantasia story) at the beginning: “Wrong I was in calling Spirits, I avow, For I find them galling, Cannot rule them now.” Until that point, there is a chance for us to control technology, if only she weren’t such a seductive enchantress. Most cannot resist.

The the screenplay, video trailer and book have received several accolades, including:

Video Trailer: Award Winner IndieX Film Fest, Los Angeles July 2020 (Honorable Mention)

Screenplay: Script Summit Screenplay Contest 2020, Finalist.

Screenplay: Honorable Mention, 89th Annual Writer’s Digest Writing Competition.

In brief, the storyline is: In the year 2032, Sam Vanderpool lives a lonely existence with a menial job in an urban dystopia that is impersonal and dominated by technology. Sam is jolted from his routine when an ad appears on his computer screen that takes him to a website called JoinWith.Me. The site offers counseling for the lonely, and Sam decides to log on. He talks to a girl who offers to help him be happier and find a girlfriend. Or so he thinks…

When she tells him to give all his money to a stranger, Sam reports her to the police, but they brush him off. He decides to leave town, but his flight is mysteriously canceled. Where there is a chip, a screen, or an interface, there she is. In desperation, he abandons the life he knows and becomes one of the city's homeless, scrounging for money and befriending transients: Gabrielle, an immigrant with the voice of an angel and a direct connection to God, and Joey, an armless man who makes art with his feet…

HOLLYWOOD, CA., UNITED STATES, August 31, 2020 /EINPresswire.com/ — Hard Kill premiere & red carpet covered by FabTV.com & BlackCinema.com

Hollywood, CA. A special drive-in screening of "HARD KILL" was hosted at the Hollywood Palladium. The action-thriller film and premier event, powered by REIGN Total Body Fuel, features WWE Total Divas star Natalie Eva Marie. The red carpet was at The Argyle Club included Cedric the Entertainer, Matt Eskandari, Randall Emmitt, Heather McDonald and Corey Calliet driving the premiere & red carpet, covered exclusively by FabTV.com & BlackCinema.com

Bruce Willis and Jesse Metcalfe star in this thriller about a team of mercenaries battling a madman bent on mass destruction.
You'd think that by now Bruce Willis would be tired of saving the world. The veteran actor, who seems to have settled on making listless appearances in forgettable B-movie action movies as a retirement funding plan, co-stars in this would-be thriller, marking his third low-budget collaboration with director Matt Eskandari (the others being Survive the Night and Trauma Center) in two years. The production notes inform us that the unimaginatively titled Hard Kill was filmed in a mere ten days, making you wonder how they spent eight of them.

Willis plays Donovan Chalmers (at least his character's name has some flair), a mysterious billionaire who seeks out ex-Special Forces operative turned mercenary Derek Miller (Jesse Metcalfe, Desperate Housewives) for protection while visiting an abandoned factory. Miller assembles his team, including Sasha (Natalie Eva Marie, of the WWE reality series Total Divas), Harrison (Jon Galanis) and Dash (Swen Temmel), assuring them of a generous payday for an assignment he promises will be "strictly VIP protection."

New Documentary "Robin’s Wish" Reveals Robin Williams’ Battle with Deadly Brain Disease

MINNEAPOLIS, MN, UNITED STATES, August 30, 2020 /EINPresswire.com/ — American Brain Foundation to host special live event Sept. 1st with ABF Vice Chair Susan Schneider Williams and director Tylor Norwood to discuss the making of the film, Robin’s struggle with Lewy body dementia, and the legacy the iconic actor left behind. This special evening of intimate conversation to be held on Sept. 1st to coincide with film’s release date

American Brain Foundation: Minneapolis — The late Robin Williams didn’t know he was fighting a battle with an unbeatable foe: a deadly brain disease called Lewy body dementia (LBD). Now, for the first time since his tragic death in 2014, his widow Susan Schneider Williams along with many of those closest to him have come together to share his story in a new documentary titled "Robin’s Wish." Directed by Tylor Norwood, the film, which will be released on Tuesday, September 1 by Vertical Entertainment, sheds light on the final days of one of the greatest entertainers of all time and his battle with LBD.

In honor of the release of "Robin’s Wish," the American Brain Foundation is hosting a live behind-the-scenes conversation with Schneider Williams and Norwood on the making of the film. A special and intimate event, attendees will get a rare look into the life and legacy of Robin Williams. Taking place on the night of the film release Sept. 1, 2020, at 8 p.m. ET, the event will be moderated by David Dodick, MD, FAAN, chair of the American Brain Foundation and professor of neurology at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. The webinar is free to attend and open to the first 5000 virtual attendees. Register to attend at www.americanbrainfoundation.org/robins-wish.

The event will provide a behind-the-scenes look at Williams’ struggle with LBD, the second most common form of dementia. LBD causes a progressive decline in mental abilities, with symptoms ranging from visual hallucinations to Parkinson’s disease-like symptoms, devastating patients and caregivers.
“In the end, it was a little known disease in his beautifully gifted brain that became his greatest and final battle,” says Schneider Williams.

“'Robin’s Wish' is a moment for us to understand the pain he felt as his talents and faculties rapidly slipped away, and moreover, how in the face of that terrifying reality, he was more heroic, more compassionate than any character he ever played in any of his movies,” says director Tylor Norwood.

The film includes Schneider Williams’ perspective and her journey from her husband’s passing to the coroner’s report, which, for the first time, revealed the presence of LBD. Knowing that a diagnosis would have made all of the difference to her family, Schneider Williams has dedicated her life to raising awareness about this fatal disease.

“Armed with the name of a brain disease I’d never heard of, I set out on a mission to understand it, and that led me down my unchosen path of advocacy,” said Schneider Williams.

Today, Schneider Williams is the vice chair of the American Brain Foundation board where she helped create the Lewy Body Dementia Fund. This American Brain Foundation fund supports a major scientific investigation to find a biomarker for LBD, innovative research projects by early-career scientific investigators, and programs for patients and caregivers coping with the disease. To date, the fund has raised more than $3.25 million.

“I hope this film rights a wrong that was done to him, and takes away a cloud that has unjustly hung over his legacy for far too long,” says Norwood.

The film will be available on September 1st on Apple TV.

“We had been discussing what we wanted our legacies to be in life; when it was our time to go, how we wanted to have made people feel,” says Schneider Williams. “Without missing a beat, Robin said, ‘I want to help people be less afraid.’ That was Robin’s wish.”

… I had the draft in my drawer for almost 30 years. With little else to do during the COVID19 shutdown, I finished the screenplay in June …”

— Mike Meier, author of "The Love Hex or Nicest Flings in Mexico"

MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, UNITED STATES, August 30, 2020 /EINPresswire.com/ — “The Love Hex or Nicest Flings in Mexico,” a Romance Comedy screenplay by author Mike Meier takes place in 1929, shortly before the Great Depression. Two American ladies seek healing in the hot springs of Mexico and find love with Mexican gigolos. The story explores the many things in life we don’t quite understand, such as love, enchantment, and magic spells.

The screenplay won Gold at the Summer 2020 Depth of Field International Film Festival (DOFIFF), as well as other accolades. The author Mike Meier is currently working on turning the screenplay into a book. It will be published in the Fall.

Mike Meier explains where the idea for the story came from: “In this case, it goes back to the early 1990s when I was a student. I once listened to a program on National Public Radio (NPR) where a young lady discussed some of her Social Studies research for her Ph.D. thesis. She mentioned that in the earlier part of the century, American women traveled to the Mexico hot springs for health treatments. Sometimes illicit relationships with young Mexican gigolos ensued. I was immediately intrigued.”

However, years later when he began writing on the story in earnest, he could not find that Ph.D. student who originally inspired the story. Explains Meier, “I tried to find that young lady and her research thesis. NPR does not archive programs for that long. So I contacted libraries, went through listings of Ph.D. theses, contacted professors, but could not locate anything. If I had, I would have saved myself many, many hours of research. So I just had to do it myself.”

It took COVID19 to give him a break from his usual job to finish the screenplay. “I had the draft in my drawer for almost 30 years. With little else to do during the shutdown, I finished the screenplay in June.”

So far, the screenplay has received the following distinctions:

• "The Love Hex or Nicest Flings in Mexico" won GOLD at the Summer 2020 Depth of Field International Film Festival (DOFIFF).

• "The Love Hex or Nicest Flings in Mexico" is a Finalist for the Hollywood Gold Awards.

• "The Love Hex or Nicest Flings in Mexico" is a Finalist for New York Movie Awards.

• "The Love Hex or Nicest Flings in Mexico" is Official Selection at the Houston Comedy Film Festival.

In brief, the storyline is: In Long Island, 1929, Rose Hayes lives unhappily married to a cheating older man, Spencer, who works as a lawyer. Rose suffers from arthritis and is advised by her doctor to travel to Tehuacán, a city in Mexico known for its miraculous hot springs. After convincing Spencer of the trip’s benefits, she invites her best friend, Alice, whose husband passed away and is struggling to recover from her grief. The women arrive, and immediately meet Miguel and Ramiro. Miguel takes it upon himself to show the ladies the beauty of Tehuacán, and street artist and gigolo Ramiro joins in, since he’s used to starting affairs with American tourists. Miguel falls in love with Rose, and a spell performed by a curandera (the town’s witch) causes Ramiro to fall for Alice. The two couples’ love needs to overcome the challenges that come with dating in the roaring 20s, when a controlling husband and a pinch of magic is involved.

Need a Birthday or Thank You Gift for Your Mother? New Book Honors All Mothers and Their Story-telling Genius

The low-cost book is available on Amazon ($4.99) for easy digital downloads and can even be purchased in quantities as gifts for friends

New Mother’s Day Book Released to Rescue Moms Going “Quarantine Crazy” While Stuck at Home with Kids & Husband

Dapper Author Jake McGuire

Author’s Portrait

Hysterical Tales Will Keep the Mothers in Your Family from Going Corona Quarantine Crazy with Knee-slapping Laughter

When people laugh hysterically they lose motor control and jiggle about like a bowl of Jello!”

— Jake McGuire

WASHINGTON, DC, USA, August 29, 2020 /EINPresswire.com/ — From sleepy bed-time stories to spookily-spun Halloween tales, your mother was probably a super story teller. Why not thank her with this delightful book just for mothers: Every Day of the Year is Mother's Day!

“My mother was a better storyteller than a cadre of Jesuits drinking Jameson,” says Jake McGuire, a Washington, D.C. photographer and writer. He credits the creation of his new book to his mother’s love of entertaining audiences even with jokes, which he says, are the ultimate in short stories.

“The fewer and more precise the words, the better they fill a recipient’s mind with imagery,” says McGuire who spent most of his career as a photographer. “Now, primarily as a writer, I paint pictures with words. If I can make someone double-over in knee-slapping laughter, I know I’ve filled their mind’s IMAX to the max!”

Why?

"When people laugh hysterically they lose motor control and jiggle about like a bowl of Jello!" Says McGuire.

“I inherited my mother’s Irish story-telling gene,” he says, “so when the idea of a book about my mother popped up in my mind, I skipped over her local acclaim as an artist and went right to the tall tales.”

While McGuire’s book was initially meant for funny Mother’s Day entertainment, the ongoing Corona disaster has the book taking on a new, ‘corona crazy’ life, providing those knee-slapping moments for moms overwhelmed by home-bound husbands, underfoot kids, know-it-all in-laws, barking dogs, escaped guinea pigs, 24-hour TV coverage, and he says, remembering his own incorrigible childhood, “Little Johnny cascading toilet paper rolls down the stairs……Look, mom, Niagara Falls!”

“McGuire is edgy, nutty, romantic…nimble in his walk and talk…spreading mischievous wisdom around,” says fellow book author, poet and DC area Professor, Anita Nahal.

The book features dozens of McGuire’s childhood stories about his mother’s antics including one where his mom who loved to toy with a devout family on his street who only allowed their children to be biblical characters on Halloween.

“So, one Halloween, she sent my older sister Dorothy and my younger sister Mary dressed in scary black, grim-reaper-like costumes, along with me in a cardboard box painted white to the devout neighbor’s house to trick or treat. Can you guess which biblical characters those darling little McGuire children were?

“Glad you asked,” says McGuire, “My sisters were Sodom and Gomorrah, and I was a Pillar of Salt.”

This is my most popular book," says McGuire, "I get notes from all over the world, most saying, 'I love your mother!'"

Washington Post writer, Monica Hesse, who penned a lengthy feature on McGuire in August of 2010, wrote, “McGuire is looking like he should be holding a mint julep, or yachting or doing something else genteel. His face is aristocratic… his manner is intense.”

McGuire’s book is full of “an out-side-the-box-mother, raising-five-kids-inside-the-house” tales and anecdotes so it provides comic relief from the current corona disaster, says McGuire. It covers his childhood years where his mother was an artist by day, and a prankster who played tricks on their neighbors by night.

“She was a rebel who distrusted politicians, clergy and anyone wearing a robe–even on Halloween,” he says, “and–amazingly¬–she still surprises us with an occasional visit from the grave. Really, see page 55!”

And, McGuire has a straightforward pitch for home-bound moms:

“If you are going Corona crazy, It’s OK, to buy yourself a Mother’s gift,” says McGuire, “I’ve made it easy as my new book is a low-cost, $4.99 digital download!”

In addition to his lively Mother’s book, McGuire is finishing up his memoirs entitled, “Out of Line • The Adventures of a Wayward Photographer.” The book entails his wild travels in dozens of countries, and even grips readers with eye-opening details of how he got invited to drink tea with the Amir of Bahrain in his royal palace and came away with gifts of diamonds and gold!

McGuire says both his Book for Mothers and his memoirs are extremely visual making them ripe for motion pictures, and he even went as far as sending a pitch to George Clooney’s agent, on the outside chance Clooney might want to grab the film rights of his memoirs before some other Hollywood entity does.

He figures Clooney could both direct and star in it. “Clooney, of course, would make a better me, than me!” He says with a chuckle. “And, I don’t mind having a bit part in it, where I’m sitting next to Clooney at a venerable DC bar like the Old Ebbitt Grill giving him advice on taking photos.”

McGuire low-cost book for Mothers is available on Amazon ($4.99) for easy digital downloads and can even be purchased in quantities as gifts for friends and family stuck at home. (A print version is now available, too). For more details, visit’s McGuire’s website: www.dcjakemcguire.com

[In JoinWith.Me] … I really want to emphasize the enduring power of a human connection, something AI cannot replicate…”

— JoinWith.Me author Mike Meier

MIAMI BEACH, FL, UNITED STATES, August 29, 2020 /EINPresswire.com/ — The screenplay debut of Mike Meier entitled “JoinWith.Me” has received multiple accolades for the screenplay, book and video trailer. JoinWith.Me is a dystopian thriller that explores timely questions: whether we control technology or it controls us; the singularity horizon where AI crosses the threshold into self-awareness; the enduring power of human connection; and the ultimate destiny of humankind.

The book is now available on Amazon as an eBook and Paperback. So far, the screenplay, book and video trailer have received the following distinctions:

• Book: Action On Film 16th Annual International Film Festival, Official Selection

Technology is an ever-growing part of daily life, with society becoming increasingly dependent upon it and even addicted to it. For author Mike Meier, the moment where artificial intelligence crosses the threshold into self-awareness is inevitable, yet the question of whether technology actually allows humanity to flourish in a futuristic world remains to be seen.

Meier posits that eventually all of humanity will converge in technology. “It is the ultimate destiny of humankind, and while it is startling to see how the Internet and technology has the ability to control us as a society, I really want to emphasize the enduring power of a human connection, something AI cannot replicate,” he says.

Atlanta Actor Charles A. Black Featured in
“Negative Exposure” from E.D. Legacy Films

COLUMBIA, SC – August 2020 – Charles A. Black, an Atlanta-based actor with more than 60 films to his credit is featured in the upcoming release, Negative Exposure from E.D. Legacy Films, scheduled for release September 4, 2020. Black portrays Leroy Patmon, a photographer who seems to represent both a spiritual and social awakening in the film. As Patmon, there is the feeling that something spiritually significant is about to take place whenever he appears, and by the end of the film, we understand why his character has been meandering throughout the film, and it is revelatory. “Negative Exposure flips the script on the painful pathos pulled from today’s headlines”, said Black. “With extraordinary twists and turns, its dark Truth is exposed to the glaring light of our own negative assumptions; partly through developments in my character’s “old school” darkroom! You’re gonna go ‘OMG’ at the end,” adds Black.

Originally from Miami, Florida, Black moved to Georgia to attend Morehouse College, where he was taught by the late Dr. Martin Luther King in a specialty class of only eight students studying Social Philosophy and Civil Disobedience. At Morehouse he was a student activist, serving as Chairman of Atlanta’s Student Movement. He also served as Editor of The Atlanta Inquirer a cultural and journalistic mainstay in Atlanta, and he recently wrote an article celebrating the paper’s 60 year anniversary.

Black is a recognizable presence in Atlanta’s film community. He is one of the industry’s busiest character actors, and his screen credits include, The Patriot (2000), Need for Speed (2014) Selma (2014) Barbara Shop: The Next Cut (2016) The Best of Enemies (2019) with Taraji P Henson and Academy Award winner Sam Rockwell, Love & Debt (2019), and a host of short films, commercials and local productions.
Negative Exposure will premiere on September 4th and is available for download at the website, www.negativeexposuremovie.com. For Smart TV users download the Vimeo App and search for “Negative Exposure.”
