LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, USA, March 11, 2019 /EINPresswire.com/ — Acclaimed Actress Yoshie Morino has been announced to star in two future projects, Team 4 and Astral Princess, by executive producer, Len Davies. The series is expected to be filmed in Los Angeles.

“We are thrilled to have Yoshie attached to the cast, and know she will help attract international audiences,” Len Davies said.

The action TV-series, Team 4, is about high-level law enforcement agents who have been implanted with nanotechnology to give them greater skills and knowledge to perform their missions. These agents risk their lives protecting the world from all threats. Yoshie will portray the team leader of these nano-enhanced agents as Controller Kumiko Kobayashi.

Kobayashi's primary responsibility is to program the nanobots that are inside the agents. She was an assistant on the original project and was given the highest level of security clearance from the NSA.

"I am very excited to be working on such a groundbreaking project, with so many incredible actors," Yoshie said. "I especially appreciate the opportunity to represent such a strong and intelligent female leader in the character of Kumiko."

In Astral Princess, Yoshie plays the role of FBI field agent Ami Soto working on a complicated case involving a kidnapping. The story becomes more intriguing when the FBI enlists the aid of a woman with extraordinary abilities to help them solve the case.

Yoshie's film credits include Sharknado 5 with Tara Reid and Bai Ling, and is well known in industry circles for her strong ties with The Asylum production company and appearances in other sci-fi films. Her series regular credits include the dance-themed series First Step, and the role of Ana in the comedic series Bro-Dum with British actor, Alexander Loxton. She recently appeared at the TOSCARS, and is serving on the panel again for the 2019 Glendale International Film Festival.

Seattle Film Institute; Offering Filmmaking Education for 25 years

Hands-on training for today’s film and media markets.

The education we offer provides new filmmakers with plenty of insight into the job markets they are hoping to pursue. I am really proud of what we have accomplished over the last 25 years.”

— David Shulman – President, Seattle Film Institute

SEATTLE, WA, US, March 8, 2019 /EINPresswire.com/ — Seattle Film Institute; Offering Filmmaking Education for 25 years

Over the last 25 years, thousands of local filmmakers have walked through the doors of Seattle Film Institute. Located in the Interbay neighborhood, Seattle Film Institute is a small local family owned private-college with a rich history of training filmmakers in the Pacific Northwest. The college started offering screenwriting classes in 1994. “In the early years students took classes in my living room,” laughs founder and college President, David Shulman.

During the days leading up to the abrupt closure of another local college, the Art Institute of Seattle, Shulman has worked tirelessly with state and local leaders to find transfer solutions for students wanting to study filmmaking and stay in Seattle. “SFI has always been a unique community for people exploring their own storytelling skills and helping them discover their own entrepreneurial skills. I taught at the Art Institute many years ago and I hate to see what is happening now.” Seattle Film Institute is working with individual students to offer a seamless transition to bachelor degree completion.

“Seattle Film Institute has always been a small school with a lot of programs,” says Shulman, “The education we offer provides new filmmakers with plenty of insight into the job markets they are hoping to pursue. I am really proud of what we have accomplished over the last 25 years.” Shulman credits his staff and faculty for SFI’s continued success, “They are committed to the next generation of storytellers.”

Currently Seattle Film Institute offers certificates, undergraduate and graduate degrees. Students study filmmaking, acting, sound design, film scoring, screenwriting, motion graphics, film producing, animation and cinematography. “We have incredible faculty,” says SFI Communications Director, Chris Blanchett. “Our programs provide hands-on opportunities to learn the skills needed to be competitive in today’s film and media markets.”

Over the next year Seattle Film Institute plans to celebrate 25 years of success with film screenings, lectures and events. One of the first events will be the current graduating class who began their journey a little over a year ago. “We have a great group of students graduating March 23rd,” says Associate Director, Monique Anair, “One has already started a successful production company with clients in Seattle and Las Vegas. Another is working for a Los Angeles production company in their local Seattle office as a studio manager.”

David Shulman says the theme of the 25th anniversary year is creating community and celebrating partnerships. “My hope is that we can help students from the recently closed Art Institute of Seattle navigate their educational options,” says Shulman. Seattle Film Institute is planning to accept all credits completed at the Art Institute of Seattle towards their bachelor degrees in filmmaking, so that displaced students do not lose time or money. Shulman cites his experience as a parent of a college student as his impetus for his efforts. “Seattle Film Institute is like a family,” says David Shulman. “I wouldn’t want to run a college any other way.”

Marina Edwards, Producer and Director, Explains Who the “Heroes” Are in Today’s Society

Marina Edwards, Filmmaker and Actress

The filmmaker recently opened up her Indiegogo campaign for “My Love in the Sky,” a short film about a war veteran returning from Iraq to civilian life.

LOS ANGELES, CA, UNITED STATES, March 6, 2019 /EINPresswire.com/ — Marina Edwards (co-writer, executive producer, director) and Jon Edwards (co-writer, executive producer) recently opened up their new Indiegogo campaign for “My Love in the Sky,” a short film about a war veteran challenged by returning from Iraq to civilian life. The film is slated to be filmed in Los Angeles from February to March of 2019. Now, Marina Edwards opens up about her motivations for making the film, and who the “heroes” are in today’s society.

“During the Second World War, the world was split into two parts – enemies and protectors. It was clear who is who. That’s why warriors who came back were hailed as heroes,” explains Edwards, “but it’s not so simple in today’s world. Coming back from conflict zones, returning veterans continuously lack the support they need. Each day in America, 22 war veterans end their lives by suicide. After experiencing war, simply coming home is the most challenging part of their lives. They feel lost.”

The story for Edwards’ newest film follows Jake, an Army veteran of 20 years who, while on a humanitarian mission in Iraq, suffers the ultimate defeat in the loss of his copilot & best friend along with his helicopter. In doing so, he shatters his vertebrae and is sentenced to a wheelchair.

Menawhile, Jake's wife Janet comes from an immigrant family who has made a lot of money through her hard work in real estate. She recognizes the meaning of love and commitment to be a military wife only when she is faced with Jake's return home. It is only through a complete recalibration as to what is important in their lives that we begin to see how this warrior family can possibly find their way back to civilian life together.

“It is our desire to give something back to those who served to defend our freedom in the form of this story,” continues Marina, “Many veterans are wounded in ways seen and unseen and our aim is to open a dialog about this. Our social media is built in a way that people's heroes these days are most often movie stars or sports celebrities, while the real heroes are out of the spotlight. But we shouldn’t forget who our real heroes are today – our warriors who fight for justice, for freedom and democracy, who protect us.”

The production budget for the short film is $30,000, and the budget will pay for things including equipment, transportation costs, festival fees, and cast and crew expenses. Although the creative team has grown up in Los Angeles and forged many relationships within the industry, they still need a budget to make this film as professional as possible. Their hope, after funding this short film, is to possibly turn it into a feature. They also want to hire veterans for the crew as well, to help spread the message of acceptance and respect they’ve been speaking of.

“It’s great to see that there are many non–profit organizations who help and support war veterans; that there are many commercial companies and caring individuals who donate their time, money and resources for veterans,” concludes Edwards, “I wish that we can bring more awareness to this subject and our social media, and the film industry would bring its power to put our warriors on the pedestal they deserve. Veterans must know that they are not alone, they are not forgotten, and we deeply appreciate what they’ve done for us.”
