Sandy is brilliant as Joey Bishop and is the comedy genius that has made our show so successful!”

— Lisa Dawn Miller

LOS ANGELES, CA, U.S.A., February 28, 2019 /EINPresswire.com/ — The crowd-pleasing musical, "Sandy Hackett's Rat Pack Show," now in its tenth season, announced the launch of a new website at www.SandysRatPack.com and additional tour dates for 2019. The theatrical production stars Sandy Hackett, son of the illustrious comedian Buddy Hackett, and his wife, Lisa Dawn Miller, daughter of legendary songwriter, Ron Miller. The two produce the show under their jointly-led production company, Hackett Miller.

“I’m so excited to release our new website. We’ve been working on it for quite a while now, both in its artistic design and state-of-the-art technology,” Miller said. “I think our fans and our presenters will love it. There is a lot of multimedia content for fans, a downloadable media catalogue for arts presenters, never-before-seen photos and behind-the-scenes footage of the show. We are also getting ready to release our first ever EP which is a collection of cast and fan favorites. It’s all very exciting!”

Hackett Miller also announced new tour dates which can be found at the new website, including a return engagement at Theatre by the Sea in South Kingstown, Rhode Island (July 27) and at the Barnstable Performing Arts Center Hyannis, Massachusetts on Cape Cod (July 29).

“Sandy Hackett’s Rat Pack Show,” which has stacked up rave reviews over the years, is a theatrical, musical production which recreates what it would have been like to see legendary icons, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr. and Joey Bishop live onstage together. “God sends the Rat Pack back to do one last show. They arrive in their prime but they are sent back to modern day so we get to weave current events into show,” said Miller who plays “Frank’s One Love,” a character based on Sinatra’s relationship with Ava Gardner. “Sandy’s father, Buddy Hackett, plays God. Frank, Sammy, Joey and Dean were all his friends and Sandy grew up with them. There is a lot of room for improv in the show, as it was with the real Rat Pack. Sandy is brilliant as Joey Bishop and is the comedy genius that has made our show so successful.”

Lisa has her own connection to the Rat Pack. Her father was songwriting legend, Ron Miller. “Every singing member of the Rat Pack recorded and performed my father’s classic standard, ‘For Once in My Life,’” Miller said. Hackett continued, “My wife brings her musical genius to the show, both as a creator and performer, which really sets our show apart from anything else out there,” Hackett said.

Fresh off its holiday tour with performances at Reynolds Performance Hall in Conway, Ark.; the Valentine Theatre in Toledo, Ohio; Flagler Auditorium in Bunnell, Fla. and; Pikes Peak Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., “Sandy Hackett’s Rat Pack Show” kick off its tenth season with performances in Brookville, N.Y. at the Tilles Center for the Performing Arts (March 2) and will follow with a Florida run in Orange Park, Fla. at Thrasher-Horne Center (March 22). From there, the show performs at the Seminole Theatre (March 23) in Homestead, Fla.; the Coral Springs Center for the Arts (March 24) in Coral Springs, Fla.; the Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall (March 25) in Fort Myers, Fla.; The Olive Grove (March 26 and 27) in Brooksville, Fla.; and the Maxwell C. King Center for the Performing Arts (March 25) in Melbourne, Fla.

Other performances for the show’s nationwide run include performances in Bartlett, Tenn. at the Bartlett Performing Arts Center (March 30); Bristol, Pa. at the Bristol Riverside Theatre (April 5); Newport, Ark. at the Arkansas State University (April 23); and Ruston, La. at Howard Auditorium, Louisiana Tech University (May 2).

Sandy, who just completed a book about his father, “My Buddy,” to be released in April 2019, tours nationwide as a comedian and with his one-man show of the same name (directed by Miller), a live theatrical production about his close relationship with his dad and the ten years they spent touring together.

Lisa, a producer and singer/songwriter, is developing a new musical, “For Once in My Life,” about the life of her father whose hits, in addition to “For Once in My Life,” include “Touch Me in the Morning,” “A Place in the Sun,” “Heaven Help Us All,” “Yester-Me, Yester-You, Yesterday,” "If I Could,” “I’ve Never Been to Me,” “Someday at Christmas,” “Everyone’s a Kid at Christmas Time” and many more. She has released several recordings and directed numerous music videos. She also heads up her own music publishing company, LDM Publishing; manages her father’s vast legacy catalogue; tours throughout the country and manages the careers of her children, 18-year-old actor/singer, Oliver Richman, freshman at New York University Tisch School of the Arts and 13-year-old actor/singer/dancer, Ashleigh Hackett, a middle schooler, also a student of the performing arts.

“Overdosed” Documentary Screening in Clearwater Brings Human Scale to Drug Crisis

Kimmie Lynn Markwood (center) answers questions from the audience as ‘Overdosed’ director Mary Sue Connolly (left) and producer (right) look on. ‘Overdosed’ chronicles the effect that the opioid drug crisis had on three small communities in West Virginia.

'Overdosed' is a story of a small town, but thousands of towns across the country fell victim to the same fate. It's a small-town-story that hints at the bigger picture.”

— Mary Sue Connolly, Director of "Overdosed"

CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, US, February 21, 2019 /EINPresswire.com/ — The opioid crisis was in the hearts and minds of the 100 people who attended a special screening of the documentary “Overdosed” on February 9th at Clearwater’s Fort Harrison. The documentary is a tour-de-force by director Mary Sue Connolly, which looks behind the startling figures of opioid abuse in West Virginia and the root causes of the crisis.

“I lost my beloved nephew to an overdose,” said Mary Sue Connolly, the director of the film. “This loss awakened me to an immense problem across the country and I was determined to find out what gave rise to this deadly scourge. As I said to my sister at the time; ‘I will keep walking over the hot coals of West Virginia until I find out what happened to Paul.’”

At the same time, Kammie Lynn Markwood, (who is featured in ‘Overdosed’), was experiencing the scourge first-hand. After suffering from addiction and turning to dealing, it was her own near-death by overdose that showed her she needed to change her life and re-make her community.

“Before the pill mills arrived, West Virginia was warm summer nights, bonfires, fishing, camping, ATV riding, lots of dirt and laughter,” said Markwood. “We were a hardworking, fun loving, happy group of people. But now, this is not the place I grew up. This is not the place I once loved – I stay because I have so much family here – including siblings, nieces, a nephew, and cousins – who can’t leave. Since I can't move them, I am determined to do everything in my power to give them a better, safer future.”

Markwood has since founded West Virginians for Change and is helping addicts get into rehab. Both Markword and Connolly first ran into resistance, but this did not stop them from moving forward.

“Making the film was a risky endeavor,” said Connolly. “We found ourselves in compromising situations, but there was never even a flicker of doubt about what we had to do. Overdosed is a story of a small town, but thousands of towns across the country fell victim to the same fate. It's a small-town-story that hints at the bigger picture.”

After screening the film, Connolly and Markwood joined their executive producer for a Q and A about the making of the film. One question was how will others be able to see the film?

Connolly and the film’s producers will continue to make the film festival circuit with ‘Overdosed’ and will then distribute the film on other channels. Residents in Pinellas County will be able to see the film at 4:00 on March 31st at Blur in downtown Dunedin, as a special presentation by the Dunedin International Film Festival.

The February 9th Screening was sponsored by the Concerned Businessmen’s Association of Tampa Bay, Consumer Energy Solutions, and MGE Management Experts.

The Fort Harrison is the international religious retreat for the Church of Scientology Flag Service Organization.

“We were very proud to show this film,” said Lisa Mansell, the Public Affairs Director for the Church. “Humanitarian L. Ron Hubbard wrote, ‘Research has demonstrated that the single most destructive element present in our current culture is drugs,’ and we see evidence of this every day. Educating others on this issue is something that we can do to help."

To learn more about future screenings of ‘Overdosed’, or to schedule a screening in your area, please go to https://www.overdosedfilm.com/.

Since completing construction in 1926, the Fort Harrison has been the home to many events for charitable organizations. The latest owner, the Church of Scientology, completed a top to bottom restoration of the Fort Harrison in 2009, and since then has hosted over 400 community events there. Scientology is an applied religious philosophy, founded by L. Ron Hubbard. The Church makes its facilities available to non-profit groups as a service to the community.

"Legends of Ice and Fire" – the 1st production of shadow show 3D from the Ukrainian shadow group Verba – finalists of the 7th Tv-shows format "Got Talent"

CHERNIHIV, CHERNIHIVSKA, UKRAINE, February 19, 2019 /EINPresswire.com/ — On November 14th, the Shadow show VERBA on its official YouTube channel presented the first production in the shadow show 3D genre!

In general, Verba is the first shadow team in Ukraine who created a symbiosis of theese genres and presented it to the public. The premiere of a new 3D shadow show took place on April 16, 2018 in the Chernihiv Drama Theater. However, it took some time to solve shadow and technical difficulties with 3D animation. Staging in the shadow show 3D is technically much more difficult. It is because of synchronization of various technological methods. The work uses several projectors and 3D animation should be clear and dynamic.

Therefore, only on November 14, the artists shared with the entire planet an original creative experiment, publishing it in the Internet. And Verba managed to combine the art of shadow theater with the capabilities of 3D graphics and visual effects. Even watching the setting on the screens of monitors – you can not miss the volume of the figures.

The specifics of the production in the genre of shadow show 3D

Likewise last few shows in cinema thematic, it's also was created based on book. Now it was George R. R. Martin’s "A Song of Ice and Fire". A lot of people know it like television series "Game of Thrones". The director of the production in shadow show 3D were Vladimir Marin. He is well-known in Ukraine and abroad director. His best works everybody could see on such talent shows as "America's Got Talent", "Ukraine Got Talent", "X – Factor".

In the shadow performance "Legends of Ice and Flame" described a story about atmosphere of a fantastic world created by the authors of books and TV series. Not without the eternal conflict of good and evil, the majestic dragons, white walkers and, of course, the struggle for the desired throne. Two factors greatly enhance the impression from viewing: first of all, it is a professionalism of the artists and, second, the unusual form of implementation, complemented by 3D special effects.
So, Verba hopes that even those who haven't read the book and didn't watched the series will love the shadow interpretation of the Game of Thrones. And fans will be happy to see again on the screen their beloved heroes and find plot of similarities and references.
